Genjuurou Tsukishima (月島源十郎, Tsukishima Genjūrō) is the father of Jinbei Tsukishima, and Kotori Matsunohara's first choice to be a member of Mushibugyo, but couldn't join due to his broken leg.

Appearance[]

Genjuurou wear a traditional samurai blue kimono and used his sword to hold his broken leg, Genjuurou has a long dark hair but tied it to make it a pony tail and has a scar under his left eyes.

Personality[]

Genjuurou a strict guy who would do anything to get stronger but because of his leg his road to get stronger ended so he sent his son Jinbei to the Mushibugyo to take his place.

History[]

Genjuurou was part of the Hunter Eight, a criminal organization who tried assasinate the magistrate. During a mission to escort a lord, Genjuurou brought along his son, Jinbei. It was during that mission that Genjuurou sacrificed his leg to atone for Jinbei's failure to carry out his duty to protect the lord's son as well as letting the son wet himself out of fear of dying from the large bug.

Plot[]

Introduction Arc[]

Genjuurou was seen to be training Jinbei before meeting Kotori, who later came to the door in order to invite him to join the Mushibugyo. Genjuurou rejected this offer due to his inability to use his left leg. He expressed his concern about slowing down the team if he were to accept. After hearing this, his son Jinbei decides to take his place. In a celebration, Genjuurou started a party with the villagers even though Kotori didn't say he would take his son. After some convincing, Jinbei leaves to go with Kotori. Seeing this, Genjuurou breathed a sigh of relief in front of the picture of his late wife Kanae that their son had matured.

A Winter Campaign Against Edo Castle[]

Genjuurou set off to the East side of Edo castle for a few hours after training Jinbei, Hibachi, and Koikawa. The training is paid off as the trainees quickly defeat Chousokabe as Jinbei unleashes his mother's inheritance making the enemy retreats and lift back the morale of the people. After receiving an apology for the late arrival, the shogun's advisor Muro acknowledged Jinbei as Edo's future, much to Genjuurou's friendly dismay with a proud look on his face.

The group then splits into two. One that consists of Jinbei and Genjuurou, which will arrive in the Northwest, while the rest will go to the main castle located in the center. In the fight for Northwest between Sanada and Jinbei, Jinbei was given his mother's inheritance by Genjuurou, which situation was deemed by Sanada to be too dangerous to be left alone. This forces a 1v1 duel between Genjuurou and Sanada. In the process of the battle, Genjuurou gave Tsukishima family head role to Jinbei and used Tsukishima Style Secret Technique: Fugaku Taizangiri against Sanada, killing him. Succumbed to his illness and his serious injuries, Genjuurou passed away and had his body buried among many others who contributed in a successful, despite being bitter, defense of Edo castle.

Abilities[]

Genjuurou is a master swordsman of well-renowned skill. A very insightful and resourceful man, he single-handedly designed his own sword-style, much of which he already taught to his son. In addition to various basic technique for it, he has also created 36 secret sword techniques. Despite the handicap of his left leg, he is still an immensely powerful combatant, able to slay dozens of giant insects in a few moments. The only person who could ever come close or equal to his strength is his future wife Kanae.

Kanae[]

Kanae is Genjuurou's wife who he met in Edo while traveling around Japan to improve his sword style. They dueled for an entire year but during that time, they fell in love and got married.

Jinbei Tsukishima[]

Jinbei is Genjuurou son and somewhat student, Genjuurou trained Jinbei since he was a child and wanted him to become Japan's best swordmen. Genjuurou and Jinbei show affections by fighting each other and to let each other know how they been.
