Sanada Yukimura is the leader of the Ten Crucifix Insects.

Sanada is shown to be calm and collective person, and only shows interest in Kuroageha, which he called her Himegumi (princess) and believed that the princess's is related to seemly the fallen Toyotomi Clan. Sanada is also one of the commanders who is strongly disliked the Tokugawa Shogunate (presumably the fall of the last struggle of the Toyotomi Clan would have him succumb into darkness with the assist the bug in the burning Osaka Caste).

Sanada has shown to be incredibly powerful, capable of destroying a mountain far away and has shown the ability to fly due to his wings. He is also able to shoot blasts of air or an unknown aura, the blasts get more powerful as he charges(but this takes little time) and easily disposes of his enemies

- The character's name is based on a same legendary samurai ,who once served the Takeda Clan (Before Battle of Nagashino) and the Toyotomi Clan (prior Siege of Osaka against Tokugawa Ieyasu).
- At the end of the Kishuu Arc the anime differs from the manga having him being defeated and killed by Jinbei, whereas in the manga he was defeated by Princess Naa's Kuroageha form.
